Rito, Lala, Haruna, and their classmates are on a bus to the seaside summer school. When they arrive at the inn, run by the hostess Takami (who often needs to punch the Principal), they find out that they will be having a "Dare Night".
While in the room, Saruyama and a classmate are planning on peeking at the girls who are bathing in the onsen, and they drag Rito along with them. Meanwhile, Lala asks Mio and Risa what a "dare" is, and they explain it's a game where a boy and girl pair up and walk to the goal on a dark road at night while other people (dressed as ghosts) try to scare them. Rito stops his classmates, and he listens to Mio talking about the "dare jinx" game; whichever pair makes it to the goal will become a couple. Lala finds this fun (Mio and Risa are curious about her tail) while Haruna seems worried. While they are trying to peek, one of the girls screams "Peeker." However, this is referring to the Principal, not Rito and the others who run away while the man is beaten.
Come the night and the game starts. During the number drawing to determine partners, Rito fantasizes about being paired with Haruna. However, he goes to draw a number and gets 13 (Haruna had 5). Rito ends up getting paired with Lala, while Saruyama gets paired with Haruna.
