The Girl Who Fell From the Sky is the first chapter of the To LOVE-Ru manga series.

Plot[]

Yuuki Rito, the male protagonist, looks at his crush, Sairenji Haruna, as she walks down the hallway. However, his friend Saruyama Kenichi grabs Rito and teases him about stalking the girl. Rito defends himself by saying that he was just looking for an opportunity to confess to her.

After school, Rito waits for Haruna at the gate of Sainan High. However, he is not brave enough to confess to her, so he hides in the bushes.

When Rito comes home, his younger sister, Yuuki Mikan, tells him that their father will come home late, but he is too depressed about his failed confession, so he is very indifferent to Mikan's words, and Rito goes upstairs to his room, where he calls Kenichi and discusses the event at school.

Kenichi had expected that Rito would fail his confession, because Rito gets angry about the remark. Kenichi explains that it was already in his pattern, as Rito is usually aggressive, but when it comes to girls, he is pathetic. Kenichi also adds that Rito is too naive as he easily faints for the curves of a girl in a bathing suit, but Rito denies that this was a long time ago as he does not behave like that anymore. But then Kenichi dares Rito to imagine Haruna in a swimsuit, which makes Rito blush. Kenichi makes fun of the fact that Rito hasn't changed yet, and Kenichi advises him to build up his confidence in talking to girls before he goes to confession.

Later, Rito takes a bath. Rito thinks about the conversation with Kenichi, even though Kenichi does not have a girlfriend, he still has a point. Rito remembers how his life was always filled with fun and video games, except for girls, until Haruna came into his life. However, he unexpectedly imagines Haruna in a swimsuit and gets nervous again. Rito thinks about how to overcome his resistance against girls. Meanwhile, the water in Rito's bathtub suddenly starts fizzing and exploding, much to Rito's surprise.

After the explosion, a naked girl appeared and shouted "Escape successful". Seeing a naked girl in front of his eyes was too much for Rito's weak resistance to girls, and so he ended up screaming as it alerted his sister Mikan approaching the bathroom. Mikan finds Rito lying on the threshold of the bathroom. She asks what's wrong, and Rito stammered that there was a naked lady in the bathtub. Mikan checks the bathtub, although there was no one there, but Rito insists on what he saw there. Mikan smiles and says that he should be able to keep his eyes off the fantasy.

While thinking about what happened in the bathroom earlier, Rito got dressed and dried himself. He is sure that he saw a naked girl in the bathroom, otherwise it was just a fantasy.

When Rito goes back to his room, the girl he saw in the bathroom is sitting on his bed wrapped in a towel as she borrowed his. This surprises Rito, who backs away and covers his eyes while asking the girl. The girl calls Lala, who came from the planet Deviluke as she confirms as an alien. Lala then reveals a long black tail with a spade-shaped tip at the base of her back, hidden in the wrapped towel. This again makes Rito blush. Lala explains that even though she has the tail, she does not transform when she sees the full moon. Rito asks Lala to hide it already. Lala remarks that Rito is blushing because it looks very cute.

Rito wonders how Lala appeared before him. Lala shows off her invented bracelet, Pyon-Pyon Warp-Kun, which sends anyone within a short distance to an undetermined destination. Lala explains that when she used it in her spaceship's bathroom, just as her escape was about to fail, she ended up in Rito's bathroom. Rito also wonders why Lala came out of her spaceship, to which Lala replies that she was trying to escape to Earth as the pursuers were closing in on her. Then Rito blushes again and urges Lala to run away, because he's too sensible for that.

Meanwhile, something calls for Lala, then flies into Rito's room from the open window and greets her. Lala is happy that the robot has escaped as well. The robot then asks Lala about the dull-looking man, referring to Rito, so Lala explains that he is the one who lives there. Lala then realizes that she did not ask his name, so Rito introduces himself, and Lala introduces the robot as Peke, a wearable robot she invented. Lala then throws away the towel she was wrapped in when Rito blushes again. Peke then transforms into a silly-looking costume for Lala to wear. Peke and Lala then discuss what to do next, as Lala has a few ideas.

However, Rito and Lala are stunned when the two men in tuxedos with long black pointed tails jump into the window, one of the men babbling that Lala is a troublesome lady and they should have restricted her movements until they left Earth. Lala then becomes angry with Peke, realizing that the men must have followed Peke to get to her. It the corner of the room, Rito watches the scene and thinks that the pursuers seem to deserve something strong. Peke suggests that Lala use the bracelet again to run away from her pursuers, but Lala reveals that it takes a full day to charge the bracelet after use.

Then one of the men grabs Lala's arm as she tries in vain to shake him off. Meanwhile, Rito wonders if the visitors are trampling the carpet with their shoes. Downstairs, Mikan wonders what Rito is doing there and why there's so much noise. Suddenly, Rito kicks a soccer ball at the man holding Lala when the ball hits him and he loses his grip on Lala. Rito takes Lala by the arm and leads her out of the window and they go over the roofs of the neighboring houses.

Lala asks Rito why he did it, and he replies that he could not remain silent while a girl was being kidnapped in front of him. Meanwhile, Haruna is walking her dog when she notices the silhouettes of people running on the rooftops. At first she thinks it must be a thief, but then she recognizes it as Rito and wonders what he's doing over there.

In the midst of the dodge, one of the pursuers threw a huge truck behind Rito and Lala, blocking the only way out of their way. The pursuers warn Rito to top interfering, but Rito remains bold and threatens to spit on the pursuers if they come any closer. One of the men then talks to Lala and begs her to stop running away from home, which Lala quickly rules out. And Rito is about to support her when he suddenly realizes that Lala is just running away from home and not being kidnapped.

Lala exclaims that she doesn't care if she's the heir or not because she doesn't want to see any more of her fiancé's suitors. The pursuers try to reason with her that it was her father's will, to which Lala declares that she doesn't care about her father. She then pulls out a cell phone to summon a giant vacuum. The pursuers get scared at the sight of one of Lala's inventions. Then Lala commands her machine to inhale them. However, it continues to suck everything in sight, as the trees and objects in the park are taken away. Eventually, the machine is about to suck Rito as well. Then Rito begs Lala to stop it, but Lala doesn't know how to stop it and it will end up exploding. Later, she apologizes to Rito for getting stuck on a tree because she forgot how to use it. However, she is also grateful to Rito for saving her.

The next day, Rito is covered in bruises and complains that if Lala had used the invention earlier, he would never have tried to save her. However, Rito also realizes that if Lala had used the vacuum in his room, the result would have been much worse, so he is happier than he expected. Rito then feels that he does not want to get involved with Lala again and calls her a runaway alien.

Meanwhile, Rito is greeted by Haruna, who is standing next to him on the street he is walking down. Rito is amazed that Haruna is talking to him so closely, and he greets her awkwardly in return. Haruna thinks about the events she saw Rito running on the rooftops. When she tries to ask Rito about it, Rito prevents her from doing so, seeing it as a perfect opportunity to confess. Rito, who is blushing extremely, stammers, closes his eyes and cries: "Since the first time I saw you, I'm loving you. So please come with me".

At the moment, however, Lala has fallen in front of Rito, and his confession was accidentally made to her. Lala accepts it positively because she feels the same way. And she asks Rito for his hand in marriage, as he surprises it.

In a spaceship flown outside the Earth, the men report to their boss. And the boss wants to go to Earth next, because he calls Lala an annoying princess.
